Stewart Reports $400,000 Raised in Grassroots Support

for Baltimore County Executive Campaign

Baltimore County, MD — Today, attorney and former School Board member Nick Stewart announced a first-year fundraising total of $400,739.41, signaling a groundswell of support for the candidate’s campaign for Baltimore County Executive.

The filing, submitted to the Maryland State Board of Elections, reveals the campaign is powered by 585 individual donors. This demonstrates a comparable position to then-Delegate Johnny Olszewski in 2018, when he raised approximately $337,000 over the same period of time in his campaign for Baltimore County Executive (Pamela Wood, Capital Gazette, July 1, 2019).

“As the only candidate who’s not on the County Council, this proves that people want something different — and believe it’s possible,” said Nick Stewart. “While every other candidate has been fundraising for a decade, on average — and money in our County usually goes to those with the power — we’re showing there’s hope for a new movement. Each dollar helps us build a wave of radical transparency that will finally knock down the old way of doing things.”

Stewart began fundraising for his campaign for Baltimore County Executive less than a year ago, in January 2025. In that time, he and his team have built a competitive countywide operation and established a strong early financial foundation. His fundraising success shows that everyday voters are responding to his message — with 62% of contributions coming from donors giving $250 or less.

Alongside strong early fundraising, Stewart’s campaign has earned endorsements from respected and trusted leaders across Baltimore County, including:

  •         Former Baltimore County Executive Jim Smith
  •         Former County Council Chairs Vicki Almond and Tom Quirk
  •         Former State Senators Michael J. Collins and Paula Hollinger
  •         Former School Board Chair Makeda Scott
  •         Former School Board Members Moalie Jose and Marisol Johnson
  •         Former TABCO Presidents Abby Beytin and Mark Beytin
  •         A countywide coalition of community leaders, including Barry Williams, Dr. Dean Scott, and others
